International Immunopharmacology 2006
Patients with advanced colorectal cancer were given 5.4g of Ganderma per day over a 12 week period. 41 out of the 47 patients showed increases in immune cells (lymphocytes) suggesting Ganoderma may have potential immuno-modulating effect in patients with advanced colorectal cancer.

Immunological Investigations 2003
In late stage of cancer patients, NK (Natural Killer cell) activity is significantly decreased. Evidence also indicates that immune function can be reduced or damaged in cancer patients receiving chemotherapy and radiotherapy, resulting in a further decrease in cytotoxic T lymphocyte and NK activity. The results of this study in advanced-stage cancer patients show a significant increase in the mean plasma concentrations of interleukin and interferon. This study indicates that Ganoderma significantly enhanced the immune response in patients with advanced-stage cancer.
